Use A Goose Call As A Turkey Locator Call

Richie McKnight, TurkeyHunting247.com pro staff, likes to use a goose call as a turkey locator call since he has heard birds gobble to passing geese so many times.

Been doing this for a few years now! Nothing worse than to be standing on a ridge top and the birds to be shut mouthed. The normal owls and crows wouldn't make them gobble, but you could always count on that pair or juvenile flock of honkers lofting over the property to make you say "game on!" I do however like for someone to stand about 20 yards away from me when I'm blowing my goose call. Sometimes as I'm going through a short routine, I'm more likely to miss a gobble and if a buddy is standing away from me, he can pick it up where I may have missed it.
